The founder of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg when he bought WhatsApp last February for $1,900 crore, he had very clear aim and ambition. He announced his desire to increase the number of WhatsApp users internationally to 100 crores. That day is not too far. Last month the number of WhatsApp users has crossed 50 crores. Nowadays this count is also increasing. Among this 50 crore users, 4 crore 8 lakh users are from India.

India has got first place in having large number of users. Second place is taken by Brazil as it has 4.5 crore WhatsApp users. It is important to remember that on April 1st it has been announced that on a single day 6,400 crore messages have been transferred through WhatsApp.

The CEO of WhatsApp Jan Koum announced that he shares his happiness with people all over the world since the number of WhatsApp users has crossed 50 crore. He also mentioned that the main reason for acquiring such huge number of users within short time is because of Android operations and SmartPhones. Many people who have never used computer and internet are using WhatsApp Instant Messenger through these phones.

Many unconfirmed news like the process of combining Facebook and WhatsApp programs are in progress are getting published. But these news are not yet confirmed. Already the number of Facebook users has crossed 100 crore.
