When you open the pen-drive on your system, it will be empty. But if you check free space from properties, you will feel like some files resides on it. Our files are hid by Viruses. :(

If the pen-drive doesn't have any sensitive information, we can format the pen-drive to get virus free pen-drive.

Let's have a small operation to restore the sensitive files.

To do this, no need to download any external software. We can do it from our computer itself by using 'cmd' prompt.

Follow the following steps to restore the virus affected files.
  1. First, Insert the virus attacked pen-drive into the computer.
  2. Open command prompt window. (Start --> Run --> cmd --> Press Enter)
  3. Check the drive of the pen-drive by looking at your 'My Computer'. For example, assume the pen-drive resides on E: drive. Type 'E:' and then press 'Enter' from the command prompt
  4. Type attrib -s -h /s /d *.*  and then press 'Enter'. Give a white space between the part. Refer the below snap shot for help.
